Aditya Narayan, Rahul Dev, Shweta Agarwal, Murli Sharma and Subh Joshi are the leading casts of Shaapit Hindi film. The movie is directed by Vikram Bhatt. Producer of Shaapit 2010 film is Vikram Bhatt. The movie is introduced under the banner of ASA Productions & Enterprises.

SHAAPIT also makes a startling promise in its adverts – ‘Warning: Extremely frightening’. Now that’s quite a tall claim, isn’t it?

The melodramatic-cum-haunting overtones of ‘lost love’ pricks the first beat of the album with guest composer Nazam Sheraz’s Sufi rock making voluble moves in ‘Tere Bina’. It has that 90′s Bhatt’s melancholic excruciation and melodic intense with an upbeat Paki rock beat stylized notions. Nazam’s likable vocals and composition works with the intimidating pace and capsizes all the dark and frightening moments. Like original background scores of many terrifying supernatural thriller, it delivers out a decent ‘worth-a-hear’ feel for the big screens but nothing that make it special for charts.

Aditya Narayan is a show-stopper. It’s hard to believe that someone can be so natural in front of the camera in his very first outing. Given the right roles, there’s no stopping this bundle of talent. Shweta doesn’t really get the scope. Besides, she is sidelined in the second hour. Rahul Dev is wonderful, underplaying his part with restraint. Newcomer Shubh Joshi oozes tremendous confidence. A fine actor! Murli Sharma and Nishigandha Wad are decent. Natasha Sinha excels.

On the whole, SHAAPIT is truly a scary movie, which comes across as a worthy follow up to RAAZ and 1920. If you are a fan of ghost stories, SHAAPIT should be on your list of ‘things to do and watch’ this weekend. Go for it and be prepared to be spooked!
