The Champions League T20 will kick off from October 08, 2009. The Royal Challengers Bangalore will face the Nashua Cape Cobras the domestic team of South Africa in the opening match of the Champions League tournament.

The Cape Cobras are a regular T20 team that play for the SuperSport Series, MTN Domestic Championship & also for the Standard Bank matches. RCB play for the Indian Premier League or IPL. The two teams are from the Group C and they will play the match at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore.

The Royal Challengers Bangalore are no underdogs and they have been the runners-up in of the Indian Premier League 2009, although they started IPL tournament as underdogs and least favorited. This kicked up their confidence level to high.

The opposition captain Andrew Puttick feel that getting accustomed to the Indian conditions will be the important factor for his side and is confident that his key players Herschelle Gibbs and J.P Duminy will deliver the goods for the Cobras and the team also has won the Standard Bank T20 series of 2008/09, which will help their confidence level.

Captain Kumble feels that despite the fact that the Cobras is a top team in their nation the Royal Challengers are a confident bunch who will definitely prove their mettle in this League and the fans support for the local team will play a major role.
