The spokesperson said these vehicles belonged to a lot made till August 22, 2009. The problem was that in case fuel is filled up to the brim, beyond the fuel auto cut off position, there could be a possible fuel leakage from the fuel pump mounting area, he said.
According to him, no problem had been reported by customers. “However, as a proactive step, we decided to check all vehicles from the lot, around 1 lakh units, including those exported overseas,” he said.
“We are changing fuel pump gasket and O ring at no cost to customer. We are midway through the checking activity and hope to complete it soon. The final cost arrived at on this account will be shared with the supplier partner,” the spokesperson added.
The A-star, an A2 segment car, is powered by the new light weight 998 cc K10B engine and is positioned as fuel-efficient city car. Targeted towards urban young professionals, it is one of Suzuki’s World Strategic Models.
The Maruti Suzuki spokesperson added that the final cost arrived at on this account will be shared with the supplier partner. “It is still too early to say what that cost will be,” he added.

As you all know, Maruti is customer centric organisation and safety of its customers is prime. however its only a precautionary step and so far they have not received any complaints from any customer. It just proves that customer centric focus. i owned a-star.but i dont have any problem still now
