BSNL Launches 3G Network | Tarrif for BSNL 3G
After a lot of delays, 3G services will be finally inaugurated in Chennai which is located in the southern part of India on BSNL network. The inauguration ceremony will be handled by the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu State and the first 3G call will me mae by Mr. Raju, the minister for Information and Broadcasting. These 3G services will be available only on BSNL as of now. There is no news on other operator’s plans to go for these services. Before BSNL, MTNL launched 3G services on its network in the month of December 2008. Even this launch from BSNL is a delayed launch, the company was supposed to launch it in the month of December but MTNL got it before them. With 3G services up and running, users will enjoy benefits like,
* Video calling
* Video conferencing
* Rich Multimedia experience
* Video on demand
* Internet speeds upto 2mbps
* Faster video streaming
* Mobile Gaming
A expensive proposition.3000 rs pm for unlimited plan.O.K on paper but do take into consideration
1)price of the new 3g handset(does not apply to ppl who already have them)
2)BSNL was in favour of cutting the bandwith in line with airtel’s FUP.So no guarantee that once u shell out a huge amount bsnl will not implement FUP.
3)The hidden charges have not been highlighted.What I mean by hidden charges are the various taxes we pay under the innocent baby friendly names like education cess, higher education cess etc.Adding this all will bring the bill to above 3500.No mention has also been made of the deposit to be paid.

At the moment Migration from existing BSNL number is not possible because BSNL 3G service runs on USIM [ Universal Subscriber Identification Module ] USIM is provided to access 3Gservices.In 3G broadband, the connectivity speed will be almost comparable to the wire line broadband. Data Transfer speed is promised good from 384 kbps.
